Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, & understood.
Whole-child, play-based, and deeply individualized. I meet children where they are and partner closely with families, because the most powerful progress happens when therapy extends into everyday life.

Sophia made an enormous difference for our son. After seeing very limited progress with another speech teacher, he worked with Sophia and quickly corrected several sounds. He truly enjoyed working with her — she made speech fun, engaging, and positive, and built a wonderful bond with him along the way.

Sophia has worked with our son for the past 7 years and counting, providing speech and language support in several areas of need. Sophia’s approach has always been both fun and productive and he looks forward to every session with her.

We are so grateful for the support our two children received from Sophia! She built an immediate rapport with both of them and made therapy something they genuinely looked forward to. She is an excellent SLP- she is warm, engaging, and incredibly skilled.

For children who are difficult to understand, or who struggle with the motor planning required to produce clear speech. Sophia uses a range of evidence-based approaches including PROMPT, the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, the Cycles Approach, the Complexity Approach, and Talk Tools — selecting and combining methods based on each child’s individual profile.
-
Receptive language is the ability to understand spoken and written language — following directions, answering questions, understanding stories, and making sense of what we hear and read. Expressive language is the ability to communicate thoughts, needs, and ideas — through gestures, words, sentences and grammar. Children who struggle in either area may have difficulty keeping up socially and academically, and early identification makes an enormous difference. Sophia addresses both through individualized, play-based therapy that makes communication feel natural and achievable.
-
Pragmatic language — or social communication — is how we use language in real-world interactions. This includes knowing when to speak and when to listen, staying on topic, adjusting communication for different situations, and reading the social cues that make conversation feel smooth and connected. Sophia uses evidence-based tools including Social Thinking and social stories to help children build these essential skills.

The Science of Reading identifies five essential pillars of literacy: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Many children who struggle with reading are not lazy or behind — they are missing a specific language piece that hasn’t yet been identified. As an SLP, Sophia brings a unique lens to literacy: she finds the root cause of reading difficulty and addresses it at the source, designing individualized, multisensory programs grounded in Structured Literacy principles.

While most children learn language by building up from single words, gestalt language processors absorb whole phrases or chunks of language first — often from favorite shows, songs, or repeated experiences — and gradually break these down into flexible, original communication over time. This is a natural and valid way of learning language. Sophia works with gestalt language processors using approaches that honor their unique learning style, using what they already know as a bridge toward spontaneous and meaningful communication.

Sophia offers comprehensive speech and language evaluations and screenings for children of all ages — from infants and toddlers through high school. Using a range of standardized assessment tools, she determines the presence of a communication disorder and the level of support needed. Every evaluation results in a detailed written report of your child’s present level of functioning, along with practical strategies and carry-over activities for home and school.
Evaluation services include:
• Infant & Toddler Evaluation (birth – 3:11)
• Comprehensive School-Age Evaluation (4 – 18 years)
